My love for video games started when I was really young. Becoming enamored with the fictional land of colorful walking mushroom people and heroic plumber brothers sent me into other fantastical worlds ranging of all different genres and stories. Many kids my age found some of the games I liked “too plot driven”, “too violent”, “too slow”, etc.; any excuse to not put in the few hours it takes to complete it or to make me stop talking about something that was, in their minds, so trivial. Video games are meant to be an escape for those who find reality sometimes difficult and they are meant to say something about a pressing issue our world must deal with.
I want to write about video games so I have somewhere to put my thoughts and beliefs about all of the different worlds. From Nintendo DS to the Oculus Quest, I have knowledge on almost all of the different games that people have access to. Besides gaming, I love reading, art, and writing my own fictional stories. I am currently a sophomore at West Virginia University majoring in Journalism and minoring in Interactive Design for Media.
